Our Land In Westcliffe, CO
With veiws of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains
"The Blood of Christ"

I thought this looked pretty.
We started with the back this time.  We took pictures of all the wild flowers but I am not
putting those on here.  The trees are all green!
This is on the back side that is slopped upward.  Much steeper than it looks.
This is that spot taken from the road.
This is more of the pictures above, father back into the part next to the hill.  It starts
sloping downward on the left and becomes more trees.
The land goes upwards, tough climb.
Things have really grown up over the past few months!
Seems our little lone tree has had a hard winter.
JC has the binoculars and looking out at the view from the land.
As you can see, there is a marker here.  All of that is ours!
These are the trees to the right of that spot.  It gets very heavy in trees again.  This is
really the only spot that has a huge bare spot.
A lot of clean up is needed here!
And here!
A view of the trees below our land where it goes up the hill.
Still towards the back of the land.
A twisted tree.
More green! And more growth!
The kids were walking down this big formation of rock.
JC loves to climb anything!
This is a view from that spot looking back at the part that starts sloping upward.
This is a view from that spot looking down at the road.  The mailboxes are by the
bush in the middle and we were parked to the right of this picture on the other side
of the tree but across the street.
This is just a small change in directions from the picture above.
The front and the mailboxes.
Another view from that spot looking at the road.  Such a pretty view!

Steep climbs
This is the front of the land. It goes pretty high up from this point.  I am always out of
breath after seconds of climbing.
Same spot but more of the view that goes along the bottom of the hill.  I can't believe
how much the grass has grown.
More clean up.
We are parked across the street from the land.  All of what you see is ours.  This is the
front of the land and the mailboxes are right next to that bush on the right had corner of
the picture.
There is a rock pile near the end of that slope.  They did silver mining on the land and
blew two holes (that we have found) in the land looking for silver.  I guess we can use
the rocks for landscaping or something creative!

This was on the side of the land.  We went through the snow on foot and were very
surprised at how deep it became.  JC and Terri got stuck in it more than once but
Jenni walked on top of the snow the whole time without sinking in.  I guess she just
doesn't weigh enough to sink!
As the kids and I were walking to take that sunset photo I got them to pose on the
old rail road depot station.  It was getting kind of cool by then and the wind was
picking up.  They had their big coats on for this.
This is on the front of the land.  We sat and ate a "picnic lunch" on this spot.
This is the back of the land where I would LOVE to build a house.  I love the tall trees
and how pretty the snow is on the ground.  The front doesn't have much snow on it.
This was sort of in the front of the land and in the background you can see snow on parts
of the ground.  JC loves to find trees and rocks to climb on!
Nick just hanging out while we look at the snow. As you can see, there was a lot of
snow on parts of our land and on others not so much.
This is the lake in Westcliffe.  It was frozen over and there were ice fisherman out
there fishing.  The kids got to walk on the very edge of it but that is it.  I have never
seen a frozen lake in person before.  And we were not wearing coats because it
wasn't that cold.
John got me in one of the photos.  Usually I am the one taking the pictures so this
was a rare event.  If you look closely you can see the ice fisherman on the lake.
They are almost to the other side of the lake.  It was a beautiful picture.  They do
fireworks on this lake on July 4th..
This is Westcliffe at sunset.  I walked from the hotel to the bottom of hte street to try
to get a better picture but by the time I got down the rest of the way the sun had set.
John says this looks like fire!  Pretty amazing.  Like I tell my kids "No one can paint
a sky like God can."

Everything on that other side of the marker is not ours.
But the view is wonderful!
