At MTCKC we use a base curriculum called "Ready, Set, READ. Building
a Love of Letters and Literacy through Fun Phonics Activities" with a
variety of resources to help them learn. We also use books as a
foundation for our weekly themes. The majority of our books are from
the two series
The Berenstain Bears and Franklin The Turtle.  We will
do fun activities and crafts to help them remember the lessons they
learn from the stories. We will use other books, Bible stories, songs,
puzzles, crafts and sometimes movies to build on each theme.  We will
not be sending home daily "work" because we do lots of hands on
activities that are not on paper. Although we do have a preschool
curriculum, we believe that a child should have the freedom to learn
in any situation. These years before they start formal school ought to
be filled with fun learning experiences and learning to work with
other children in a comfortable home-like environment.

Throughout our program we will follow a basic plan that includes monthly themes, even during the summer. These daily plans
will go along with the themes of the week. There is a sample of the daily schedule below.
Cooking With Kids
Artist Expression
We will do a recipe that goes along with our
Monthly theme.  The kids will help make the
food and then eat it for snack. The will be
simple things but it will help them feel big
and give them confidence in their abilities.
We will do some sort of art where they can
express themselves and their talents. It can
include painting, watercolors, finger painting,
play dough and others, On days when it is warm
and dry outside we will do these things outdoors.
Music Mania
Crafty Creations
We will have a special music time each day. The
kids love playing the instruments and dancing
around to the music. Sometimes we even make
our own insturments to sing and dance with.
We will do a craft that goes along with our
weekly theme.  If you know of a cute craft that
fits please let me know.  I am always open to
suggestions and love to hear fresh ideas!
