I am trying to fill this page with all the many different things we might do here.  I have
gathered some good photo's and think you will like them a lot.  Also, beside or under each
group I have added commentary so that you will understand a little more about each photo
and also a little more about MTCKC.  Feel free to call me anytime and/or set up an
appointment.  Please be patient as this loads, there are a lot of pictures on here.
For math we do all sorts of fun things
that they don't realize we are doing
"school".  To them they are just having a
good time.  We use these color tiles to
make patterns and build pictures and
words.  We also use pattern blocks in
this same way.  We learn even more
math skills when we play games like
Monopoly Jr. or Yahtzee
This "zoo" has become a favorite of the children.  It started
out very early in the morning, when Jenni and I weren't
really awake yet.  We were waiting for her daycare friends
to arrive and I could tell she was a little bummed out.  So I
sat down with her and started making shapes and then it
became the zoo and we started putting all the animals we
could find in it.  Each time they play with it, it must be put
back up in it's place before lunch.  But usually after rest
time the kids will take it back out again and rebuild it.
Sidewalk chalk is one of the things the kids enjoy most outside, when
it isn't too hot!  We keep the box of large chalk on the front porch and
one of the kids always draws a little something on the front porch
when her dad picks her up. Then she takes a paint brush and wipes
it off before she will leave with him.   It is an easy "canvas" because
you don't have to worry about cleaning it up, except putting the chalk
up afterwards.  The rain washes it right off, no problems.  We use it
to practice spelling and for "Art".  They really like using the colored
chalk.
The girls were having a "Teddy Bear Tea Party" with all of the
stuffed animals, not just the teddy bears.  They just love to set
up the animals all around the table and they put the little ones
on top of the table but still serve them all tea.  They will even
pretend that they are taking someones order.  The picnic table
below is for the kids to eat at for meals and snacks.  Sometimes
they might even do messy crafts there.  They were having an
evening snack while watching a kid friendly movie.  We have a
TV, VCR, DVD player all in this area for the kids while they are
having a snack or possibly when a certain movie backs up what
we are studying.  Below the TV is video games.  On nights
when we have older kids they will sometimes take those out and
play the Game Cube for awhile.  Depending on the age and
number of children, our Parent's Night Out can differ greatly in
what we do that night.
As with many of our themes, we do a craft,
story, coloring picture, things like that.
This year for Easter we did door hangers.
They really enjoyed doing those.   They
had bunny pictures to color and then we
colored almost 2 dozen eggs.  They did
very well and had a lot of fun.  Nick, our 13
year old, hid the plastic eggs full of candy
and we went to find them!  Then it was
time to eat the candy!!
We were studying bugs one day and
the kids went outside and found a
bug and "played" with it for hours, or
so it seemed.  They were so
fascinated by it that you would have
thought they had never seen one
before, which was not the case.
The kids made some really neat cards for their
mom's and we painted sun catchers and made
picture frames out of Popsicle sticks.  Since the
babies couldn't make their mom's anything I made
something in their place.  I took pictures and
laminated them.  Then I placed the pictures on a
5x7 piece of foam and used a label maker to print
out Mother's Day 2006 and the baby's name.  I
think the Mom's liked them.

Sprinkler
Time
During the summer months we fight the heat by
having sprinkler days.  We do different types of
water activities.  In these photos we had two
misters wide open laying on the ground and they
had buckets to fill up and pour on each others
heads.  They have a great time and it cools them
off and wears them out for nap time!
Summer
Art Day
During the summer, another one of our weekly activities that we
did was "Art Day".  We did different art and craft things each
week.  This time we were creating with water colors.  They were
able to create whatever they wanted with the colors, not told to do
anything special.  So some made pictures with people and some
just did different colors and made abstract art.  They really enjoy
doing different things like that.
Christmas
Crafts & Food
Fun
The children made Christmas cards for everyone they wanted, there
was no limit on how many, and door hangers.  They had a good
time making them.

Ms. Terri made little chocolate cakes shaped like Christmas trees
and the kids "painted" them with icing and decorated them with mini
M & M's.  That was fun and they tasted GREAT!!!
Snow Day
On January 17 it snowed, just a little bit but enough for
the kids to get bundled up and go play in the snow.  They
enjoyed it and afterwards we went inside and had hot
chocolate.  They loved that!
Jacey's
last day
Jacey was the first baby that I had this time around.
She came here when she was 6 weeks old.  Her aunt
moved to Texas and started watching her when she
was 14 months old.  I bought her this bear from Build
A Bear to remember me by.  I cried when she left.  I
get so attatched to the kids, so do my kids.  They
loved her so much!  They still miss her.
Sidewalk chalk is one of the kids favorite things to do outside.
That and bubbles!  They love playing hop scotch with Jenn, too.
She draws it and they jump around on it trying to imitate her.
Thanksgiving
Turkey's
Lego
Land
The kids play with Lego's every day in some form or fashion.  They
love to build cars, trains and planes and very tall buildings. When
there are older kids they get the smaller lego's out and build huge
cities on the dinning room table.  The love for me to take pictures.
Sidewalk
Chalk
One of the moms brought us a wonderful Turkey craft. The kids
enjoyed making it and then putting them on and acting like
trukeys! Too cute! We are always open to new craft and food
ideas. Thanks for sharing!
Monkey
Bread
During our "jungle" week we made Monkey Bread during our
"Cooking with Kids". They took turns doing each step all the
way through. The next day they got to eat their bread at snack
time. Yummy!
Rain Shakers
& Music Time
During our "Jungle" week our "Crafty Creation" was rain
shakers.  We took empty bottles and put rice in them and glued
the lids shut.  Then we decorated them with ribbon and animal
stickers. After we were done we put on our "jungle songs" and
had fun making music and singing. We sang their favorite song ,
"No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed".
